David Pressman is the author of the best-selling do-it-yourself guidebook, Patent It Yourself, that has sold over 300,000 copies since the first version appeared in 1979 published by Nolo Press (Berkeley, CA).
The most complete and authoritative work on patents and inventions for laypersons, it has been called “The Inventors’ Bible” by the Denver Post. Mr. Pressman, formerly an electronic engineer, has over 50 years’ experience in the patent profession – as a patent examiner, a corporate and independent intellectual property attorney, a columnist for EDN Magazine, a patent law instructor at San Francisco State University. He is also author of the PATENT and TRADEMARK entries in The World Book Encyclopedia.
A former member of MENSA, he has a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a JD from the George Washington University where he was on the Law Review.
He has too much work to handle any new clients but is willing to answer emailed general questions that aren’t answered by Patent It Yourself.
